Vegans in Canada

Hi!  I'm new to this vegan stuff and to this group.

I've been switching over to becoming a vegetarian, then possibly a vegan later on when I get used to it...however, I seem to have gotten a ton of breakouts in small pimples all over my face but mostly my forehead since I started.  I didn't ever have this acne problem after middle school - and the acne I had then was not tiny like the stuff I have now and not all over my forehead.  I've asked some people and almost all concluded that it must be a change in diet since I haven't changed any other habits, but they couldn't offer much in the way of advice.  Anyone have any similar experiences or advice? :S

Thanks a lot :)

Are you consuming a lot of soy products? I noticed I was breaking out more when I was having an abundance of soy, so I stopped eating as much tofu, started drinking rice milk instead of soy, etc. and there was definitely an improvement.

PS: I creeped your profile... hooray for vegan dreadheads!

Yeah, I love Doctor Who as well :D I can't wait either!! I don't normally watch TV but I'm gonna try to watch it on the common room TV. Or hopefully they'll be available online after.

Hi! Yeah, I did at first actually...that might be why then. I'll quit drinking so much soy milk and see what happens ^^ Thanks a lot. I've never seen rice milk before, do you know what kinda stores I could find it at?

Ooh I don't have dreads at this point...when my hair is way longer I'll be considering it :D

I find rice milk in stores like metro/zehrs/loblaws/etc. There is a brand called Rice Dream that seems to be in most major grocery stores. I live in Toronto right now for Uni and so it's easy to find here.. but my parents' live in a farming town and it's in the grocery stores there so it seems to have wide availability. I hope you can find it, I prefer it to soy milk in taste for sure.

Sorry this was several days late!
